Will definitely consider coming back and staying again! I definitely recommend this spot. The river is a nice paddle lots of options, canoe, kayaks. Well i think i have said it all There were the kayaks which I took advantage of to go float around the lake and enjoy the scenery. It's so peaceful, quaint, cute, very rustic and exactly what we expected. We also visited during acorn dropping season - which delivers a "shotgun" type sound when falling on the tin roof. It was quiet, peaceful, private. I can't wait to go back next summer.
I suggest earplugs to sleep soundly. If you're looking for a get away, with a tiny little cabin, many places to relax in some swinging hammocks, sit on the dock by the river, have a fire, swim and be surrounded by wildlife -- this is the place. And Don was an exceptional host and we thank him for sharing this wonderful space with us. Definitely a place we will repeat spending more time in. We fished in the river, went swimming with our dog. Don even had pre cut wood for the fire, although, I feel guilty not restocking it for him. I went alone for 4 days and felt safe. I can't wait to go back next summer. There were the kayaks which I took advantage of to go float around the lake and enjoy the scenery. Lots of wild life around which was amazing to watch and listen. It was everything we were looking for in a little getaway from the city. Don was a fantastic host. I would absolutely recommend and, would stay here again myself wouldn't mind canoeing the river. This will be my regular go to. Well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Earplugs helped, but you can still hear them pretty well. The wild life displayed a wonderful show for us and we couldn't get enough of the River. He checks in to ensure that there is enough water, firewood and that all is well. It's close enough to town that you can head in to get anything you need, but far enough away that you feel like you're not even close to a town. Fire wood and propane are provided Situated about 20 feet from the bank of the Tay River, shaded by a large oak and ash tree, on thirty acres of river front property Had campfires over looking the river. Two night min stay. It's so peaceful, quaint, cute, very rustic and exactly what we expected. The cabin was clean and just the perfect size.
